Oedipus's Swollen Foot- He was left in the mountains with his ankles pinned together when he was little and now he is left wtih a big scar. This symbol will always remind people to remember he is cursed.

Oedipus's children- In a matter of time, his children become a reminder of that he has married his mother.
















The three-way crossroads-THis is where Laius was killed by Oedipus. This marks the start of the Prophecy.

Plot:

Exposition-

setting: Thebes, Ancient Greece

characters: Oedipus, messanger, Shepard, Lauis, Jocasta

prophecy: Oedipus will grgow up and kill his father and marry his mother

Rising Action:

-Oedipus comes to Thebes, defeats Sphinx and becomes ruler of the city

- Tiresias knows who murdered Lauis but wont tell Oedipus

- Oedipus interrogates people who have some knowledge about king Lauis and the past

Climax:

-Oedipus discovers the prophecy is true and freaks out

Falling Action:

-Jocasta hangs herself to death

-Oedipus stabs his eyes repeatedly punishing himself using Jocastas brooches from her robe

Resolution:

- Oedipus wants to be banished from Thebes

- Creon helps him do so
